Logging On
After you download the AVpod software.
To play games, chat, and socialize with the members of AVpod.net for free, you'll need to first log on to the service. To log on, simply head to your desktop and click the AV Chat icon. You will then have the Chat Logon box on your screen. Continue by clicking the 'new' button in the bottom left hand corner. Fill in the New User Registration Form and click 'register' in the bottom right hand corner.
Chatting
To begin chatting simply start typing in the text area below the lobby text area. To send your text simply press the 'Enter' key on your keyboard or click the 'Send' button in the bottom right hand corner of AVpod.
Looking for a certain crowd? Simply select your desired lobby by clicking the down arrow on the lobby list above the lobby text area and between the 'Join' & 'Create' buttons. There are a lot of different lobbies for you to choose from so you should find one that interests you!
To join a user room you can either double click a user room in the user room listing above the lobby text area or single click the user room of your choice and click the 'Join' button. You can also create your own user room on AVpod! To create your own user room click the 'Create' button above the lobby text area and fill in the form then click 'OK'. Your room will open in a new window allowing you to toggle back and forth between the lobby and your room!
Buddy list & Messager
To add a user to your buddy list, simply left click the desired users name you wish to add and click 'Add to buddy list'. Viewing your buddy list is just as easy! To view your buddy list simply direct your mouse to the 'Services' tab in the AVpod main lobby window and click, next click 'Buddy List'. POOF! Your buddy list should now be open with a list of all of your AVpod buddies! From your buddy list you can left click your buddies name to get a list of options, such as Sending A Message!
To send a message, left click the desired users name you wish to send a message and 'Send Message'. A new window will then open and you will be able to chat in private with your new acquaintance!
The System Tray
The system tray is usually located at the bottom of the screen next to the clock and contains small icons that represent system functions (such as printer and volume) and programs.
The AV icon in the system tray provides instant access to AVpod! Simply right click the AV icon to get a list of options. From here you can select to 'Show' AVpod, 'Hide' AVpod, or 'Close' AVpod. If you select to Hide AVpod this will hide to program from the taskbar. This is a great feature if you have too many windows open! To reopen AVpod simply right click the AV icon and click 'Show'.
